Probation Violations

If you have been placed on felony probation and receive notice of a violation, you may, among other things, be sentenced to serve time in either jail or prison. If you are on misdemeanor probation and receive a probation violation, you may be sentenced to serve time in jail. Often, there is a valid explanation for why a person may have violated the terms and conditions of their probation by, for example, leaving a drug treatment program, failing to serve a sentence or failing to comply with another sentenced condition.
