Probation Violations
If you have been placed on felony probation and receive notice of a violation, you may, among other things, be sentenced to serve time in either jail or prison. If you are on misdemeanor probation and receive a probation violation, you may be sentenced to serve time in jail. Often, there is a valid explanation for why a person may have violated the terms and conditions of their probation by, for example, leaving a drug treatment program, failing to serve a sentence or failing to comply with another sentenced condition. In this situation, it is best to have an experienced attorney from Jackson Law speak with you about what happened and then advocate for you to both the district attorney and the judge.
At Jackson Law, our attorneys have vast experience handling all types of probation violations, and through this experience, we have developed a great rapport with members of both the district attorney’s office and the judiciary. We have great success convincing judges to withdraw probation violations or allow a person to go to a treatment program or do community service rather than spend additional time in custody.
If you are being investigated for a criminal offense, or have been charged with a criminal offense, and want to know how to best proceed, please contact the attorneys at Jackson Law online or call Jackson Law at 650-587-8556.
